It’s been a week since I was attacked. I was finally released from the hospital, a couple of days ago and it has been a struggle getting around with broken ribs and ankle.

“Mrs. Riley, someone is here to see you.” Maribel whispers.

I look up to see Raul. “Thank you Maribel. Okay Rae, I’m going to let you go and I’ll see you when you get back. I love you too.”

I hang up and lay the phone on the arm of the couch.

“Hey, how are you feeling?” Raul asks when I lay the phone down.

“Much better. How are things at the office?”

“We have things under control. You let us handle that while you get better.”

“You know that’s hard for me to do. Is May’s issue complete?”

“Yes, I have the mock up for you.”

“Great. Did Maxwell Planning ever send the contracts for the party?”

He rolls his eyes. “Are you even supposed to be working?”

“Boy, if you don’t give me those contracts. Work doesn’t stop for sickness.”

He laughs. “Here.”

“Thank you. Now, did Sampson respond to the last email?”

“Yep.”

“And?”

“See for yourself.” He says, handing me his tablet.
